Introduction- Why are we doing this?
Recruitment 101 is a series of "how-to"s that will be held at board meetings for the first 2 board meetings. In future weeks we will be covering how to read and grade written apps and how conduct and assess 1st round interviews. Today, we are going to go over how to talk about Spark and important events to show up to!

How to talk about Spark at Involvement Fairs/Tabling
- Topline description: We're supporting innovators and creators in the entrepreneurial ecosystem at USC and LA. Our mission is to improve entrepreneurship at USC and make more people believe they are entrepreneurial. So how do we do it? Our initiatives focus on two areas, where entrepreneurship doesn't exist yet at USC or supporting existing part of the ecosystem. —> again, we empower and support people's most passionate ambitions.
- Explain our diverse initiatives: Our initiatives impact the USC and LA communities that our members are most passionate about. Some of us are driven to impact educative efforts done in different parts of USC's communities through Project Launch... some of us champion an appreciation for all types of art forms and community and want to share it through Arts Grooves and Foods’ festival... some of us aim to reignite students’ energy to change the world around us through 1000 Pitches.
- What being a part of Spark looks like: You're going to commit two hours a week to committee meetings and one hour to our general board meeting. Committees typically assign work outside of meetings. The time commitment is significant, but the returns are exponential. You're going to receive mentorship as a Sparklet while also being led through SparkLabs, our program for new members to experience leading and working in a team. Outside of work, we care about each other, when you're a part of our family, you always will be.—> key point is that we're a family who care about each other and want to see each other grow. our work is important to us, but we care a lot more about how we can support each other in our lives.
- Additional information:
